Chapter 25 in Proverbs for today: (Jan 25) (Living Bible)
25 These proverbs of Solomon[a] were discovered and copied by the aides of King Hezekiah* of Judah:
2-3 It is God’s privilege to conceal things, and the king’s privilege to discover and invent. You cannot understand the height of heaven, the size of the earth, or all that goes on in the king’s mind!
4-5 When you remove dross from silver, you have sterling ready for the silversmith. When you remove corrupt men from the king’s court, his reign will be just and fair.
6-7 Don’t demand an audience with the king as though you were some powerful prince. It is better to wait for an invitation rather than to be sent back to the end of the line, publicly disgraced!
8-10 Don’t be hotheaded and rush to court! You may start something you can’t finish and go down before your neighbor in shameful defeat. So discuss the matter with him privately. Don’t tell anyone else, lest he accuse you of slander and you can’t withdraw what you said.
11 Timely advice is as lovely as gold apples in a silver basket.
12 It is a badge of honor to accept valid criticism.
13 A faithful employee is as refreshing as a cool day[b] in the hot summertime.
14 One who doesn’t give the gift he promised is like a cloud blowing over a desert without dropping any rain.
15 Be patient and you will finally win, for a soft tongue can break hard bones.
16 Do you like honey? Don’t eat too much of it, or it will make you sick!
17 Don’t visit your neighbor too often, or you will outwear your welcome!
18 Telling lies about someone is as harmful as hitting him with an ax, or wounding him with a sword, or shooting him with a sharp arrow.
19 Putting confidence in an unreliable man is like chewing with a sore tooth, or trying to run on a broken foot.
20 Being happy-go-lucky around a person whose heart is heavy is as bad as stealing his jacket in cold weather or rubbing salt in his wounds.[c]
21-22 If your enemy is hungry, give him food! If he is thirsty, give him something to drink! This will make him feel ashamed of himself, and God will reward you.
23 As surely as a wind from the north brings cold,[d] just as surely a retort causes anger!
24 It is better to live in a corner of an attic than in a beautiful home with a cranky, quarrelsome woman.
25 Good news from far away is like cold water to the thirsty.
26 If a godly man compromises with the wicked, it is like polluting a fountain or muddying a spring.
27 Just as it is harmful to eat too much honey, so also it is bad for men to think about all the honors they deserve!
28 A man without self-control is as defenseless as a city with broken-down walls.
Chapter 13 in (Genesis) for today: (January 25) (Living Bible)
13 1-2 So they left Egypt and traveled north into the Negeb—Abram with his wife, and Lot, and all that they owned, for Abram was very rich in livestock, silver, and gold. 3-4 Then they continued northward toward Bethel where he had camped before, between Bethel and Ai—to the place where he had built the altar. And there he again worshiped the Lord.
5 Lot too was very wealthy, with sheep and cattle and many servants.[a]6 But the land could not support both Abram and Lot with all their flocks and herds. There were too many animals for the available pasture. 7 So fights broke out between the herdsmen of Abram and Lot, despite the danger they all faced[b] from the tribes of Canaanites and Perizzites present in the land. 8 Then Abram talked it over with Lot. “This fighting between our men has got to stop,” he said. “We can’t afford to let a rift develop between our clans. Close relatives such as we are must present a united front! 9 I’ll tell you what we’ll do. Take your choice of any section of the land you want, and we will separate. If you want that part over there to the east, then I’ll stay here in the western section. Or, if you want the west, then I’ll go over there to the east.”
10 Lot took a long look at the fertile plains of the Jordan River, well watered everywhere (this was before Jehovah destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah); the whole section was like the Garden of Eden,[c] or like the beautiful countryside around Zoar in Egypt. 11 So that is what Lot chose—the Jordan Valley to the east of them. He went there with his flocks and servants, and thus he and Abram parted company. 12 For Abram stayed in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain, settling at a place near the city of Sodom. 13 The men of this area were unusually wicked, and sinned greatly against Jehovah.
14 After Lot was gone, the Lord said to Abram, “Look as far as you can see in every direction, 15 for I am going to give it all to you and your descendants. 16 And I am going to give you so many descendants that, like dust, they can’t be counted! 17 Hike in all directions and explore the new possessions I am giving you.” 18 Then Abram moved his tent to the oaks of Mamre, near Hebron, and built an altar to Jehovah there.
Chapter 13 in (Matthew) for today: (January 25) (Living Bible)
13 Later that same day, Jesus left the house and went down to the shore, 2-3 where an immense crowd soon gathered. He got into a boat and taught from it while the people listened on the beach. He used many illustrations such as this one in his sermon:
“A farmer was sowing grain in his fields.4 As he scattered the seed across the ground, some fell beside a path, and the birds came and ate it.5 And some fell on rocky soil where there was little depth of earth; the plants sprang up quickly enough in the shallow soil,6 but the hot sun soon scorched them and they withered and died, for they had so little root.7 Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns choked out the tender blades.8 But some fell on good soil and produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much as he had planted.9 If you have ears, listen!”
10 His disciples came and asked him, “Why do you always use these hard-to-understand illustrations?”[a]
11 Then he explained to them that only they were permitted to understand about the Kingdom of Heaven, and others were not.
12-13 “For to him who has will more be given,” he told them, “and he will have great plenty; but from him who has not, even the little he has will be taken away. That is why I use these illustrations, so people will hear and see but not understand.[b]
14 “This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah:
‘They hear, but don’t understand; they look, but don’t see!15 For their hearts are fat and heavy, and their ears are dull, and they have closed their eyes in sleep,16 so they won’t see and hear and understand and turn to God again, and let me heal them.’
But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.17 Many a prophet and godly man has longed to see what you have seen and hear what you have heard, but couldn’t.
18 “Now here is the explanation of the story I told about the farmer planting grain:19 The hard path where some of the seeds fell represents the heart of a person who hears the Good News about the Kingdom and doesn’t understand it; then Satan[c]comes and snatches away the seeds from his heart.20 The shallow, rocky soil represents the heart of a man who hears the message and receives it with real joy,21 but he doesn’t have much depth in his life, and the seeds don’t root very deeply, and after a while when trouble comes, or persecution begins because of his beliefs, his enthusiasm fades, and he drops out.22 The ground covered with thistles represents a man who hears the message, but the cares of this life and his longing for money choke out God’s Word, and he does less and less for God.23 The good ground represents the heart of a man who listens to the message and understands it and goes out and brings thirty, sixty, or even a hundred others into the Kingdom.”[d]
24 Here is another illustration Jesus used: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a farmer sowing good seed in his field;25 but one night as he slept, his enemy came and sowed thistles among the wheat.26 When the crop began to grow, the thistles grew too.
27 “The farmer’s men came and told him, ‘Sir, the field where you planted that choice seed is full of thistles!’
28 “‘An enemy has done it,’ he exclaimed.
“‘Shall we pull out the thistles?’ they asked.
29 “‘No,’ he replied. ‘You’ll hurt the wheat if you do.30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and I will tell the reapers to sort out the thistles and burn them, and put the wheat in the barn.’”
31-32 Here is another of his illustrations: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a tiny mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds but becomes the largest of plants, and grows into a tree where birds can come and find shelter.”
33 He also used this example:
“The Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a woman making bread. She takes a measure of flour and mixes in the yeast until it permeates every part of the dough.”
34-35 Jesus constantly used these illustrations when speaking to the crowds. In fact, because the prophets said that he would use so many, he never spoke to them without at least one illustration. For it had been prophesied, “I will talk in parables; I will explain mysteries hidden since the beginning of time.”[e]36 Then, leaving the crowds outside, he went into the house. His disciples asked him to explain to them the illustration of the thistles and the wheat.
37 “All right,” he said, “I am[f]the farmer who sows the choice seed.38 The field is the world, and the seed represents the people of the Kingdom; the thistles are the people belonging to Satan.39 The enemy who sowed the thistles among the wheat is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the angels.
40 “Just as in this story the thistles are separated and burned, so shall it be at the end of the world:41 I[g]will send my angels, and they will separate out of the Kingdom every temptation and all who are evil,42 and throw them into the furnace and burn them. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.43 Then the godly shall shine as the sun in their Father’s Kingdom. Let those with ears, listen!
44 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure a man discovered in a field. In his excitement, he sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field—and get the treasure, too!
45 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a pearl merchant on the lookout for choice pearls.46 He discovered a real bargain—a pearl of great value—and sold everything he owned to purchase it!
47-48 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by a fisherman—he casts a net into the water and gathers in fish of every kind, valuable and worthless. When the net is full, he drags it up onto the beach and sits down and sorts out the edible ones into crates and throws the others away.49 That is the way it will be at the end of the world—the angels will come and separate the wicked people from the godly,50 casting the wicked into the fire; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.51 Do you understand?”
“Yes,” they said, “we do.”
52 Then he added, “Those experts in Jewish law who are now my disciples have double treasures—from the Old Testament as well as from the New!”[h]
53-54 When Jesus had finished giving these illustrations, he returned to his hometown, Nazareth in Galilee,[i] and taught there in the synagogue and astonished everyone with his wisdom and his miracles.
55 “How is this possible?” the people exclaimed. “He’s just a carpenter’s son, and we know Mary his mother and his brothers—James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas. 56 And his sisters—they all live here. How can he be so great?” 57 And they became angry with him!
Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own country, and among his own people!”58 And so he did only a few great miracles there, because of their unbelief.
Matthew 13:10Why do you always use these hard-to-understand illustrations? is implied.
Matthew 13:12so people will hear and see but not understand. Those who were receptive to spiritual truth understood the illustrations. To others they were only stories without meaning.
When people are filled with pride, do you know what happens to them? They do not receive the grace of God because God gives grace to the humble. When a person is full of pride, grace is withdrawn, and God sets up a barricade against that person. God resists the proud. Now that’s bad enough, but go down to verse eight. First Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” Can you imagine an individual like this? Devoid of the grace of God; God resisting him; Satan circling to devour him. That’s what pride does. Nothing puts a person more out of the reach of Satan than genuine humility.
How can you know if you are driven by pride or humility?
How does following Jesus lead us to humility?
Consider the areas of pride in your life. Take intentional and prayerful steps toward humility in these places today.
FATHER GOD WE KNOW THAT YOU ARE THE SOVEREIGN KING OF THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE AND BEYOND, THANK YOU FOR YOUR MERCY AND GRACE OVER 2,000 YEARS AGO WHEN YOU SENT YOUR ONLY BEGOTTEN SON TO THIS EARTH TO DIE ON THE CROSS OF HIS OWN VOLITION AS PAYMENT FOR ALL OF OUR SINS IF WE WOULD ONLY BELIEVE ON HIM, REPENT OF OUR SINS AND GIVE HIM TOTAL CONTROL OF OUR LIVES.
DOING THOSE THINGS WE ARE SPIRITUALLY BORN AGAIN, THE HOLY SPIRIT SEALS US AND WRITES OUR NAME IN THE LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE GIVING US ENTRY INTO HEAVEN WHEN WE DIE OR WHEN RETURNS AT THE RAPTURE.
“The Greatest thing that ever happened to me was when I realized that GOD forgave me of all my sins through the Death, Burial and Resurrection of His Son, Jesus and through my Faith in Him.”
Question: Who is this Jesus everyone is talking about?
Why is He so important in terms of what happens to my Soul, which resides in my body, until my body dies?
First, let me tell you that the Creator of the Universe, God the Father, truly Loves you and every member of the Human Race which He also created.
He also wants you and every human’s soul to be in Heaven with Him when your body dies here on earth. The part of you that goes to Heaven when you die is your soul.
Everyone has a soul that merely resides within your body as a tenant; the soul NEVER dies. Again, Father God Loves every human that has ever been born since Adam and Eve, 6,000 years ago, and He WANTS your soul to live for Eternity, to which there is NO END, with Him! BUT there is a problem:
Ever since Adam and Eve the ENTIRE Human Race has been infected with a DISEASE and there is only ONE CURE for it! Please remember that God created the Universe AND the Human Race, making Him the Sovereign King of the Universe, in other words:
HE SETS THE RULES!
The disease that we all have, as soon as we are conceived in our Mother’s Womb, is SIN! Adam and Eve broke God’s only Commandment at the time while they were in the Garden of Eden: “Don’t eat of the fruit of the forbidden tree!”
When they disobeyed that one Commandment, they SINNED! They were no longer HOLY and God threw them out of the Garden and, as He had told them: Their bodies would eventually die BUT their souls would live on for Eternity.
2,000 years later, God gave Moses the 10 Commandments for the people to live by. He set the Rule that if anyone broke one of those Commandments they were to sacrifice an unblemished lamb to God and God seeing the blood of that lamb, would forgive that person’s sins.
2,000 years after that, which brings us to 2,000 years ago, Father God showed His Mercy and Grace upon the entire human race by sending His Only Begotten Son: Jesus, to this earth, as Prophesied hundreds of years earlier in the Old Testament (Isaiah 7:14), as a human baby, born of a Virgin named Mary in the City of Bethlehem of Judea!
THIS is the Jesus everyone is talking about today!
He lived a perfectly SINLESS life, performed thousands of miracles during the 3 years that He Ministered from the age of 30 until He was 33. His last miracle was raising a good friend of His, named Lazarus, from the dead after he had been dead and in a tomb in Bethany for FOUR DAYS!
This miracle, seen by many Priests and Rabbis and common people of Bethany, INFURIATED the Priests and Rabbis because all of the people were starting to follow Jesus instead of them! They then started to plan a way to get rid of Jesus!
After Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He and His 12 Disciples went on in to Jerusalem for the Passover to Commemorate God’s freeing the Nation of Israel from the Egyptians hundreds of years earlier.
While in Jerusalem preparing for the Passover Dinner, one of Jesus’ Disciples, a traitor named Judas Iscariot, secretly met with the Priests and Rabbis and accepted 30 pieces of silver to BETRAY Jesus to them during the Passover Celebration.
During the Passover Supper with His 12 Disciples, including Judas, Jesus revealed the NEW COVENANT to them. This New Covenant would require Jesus to shed His Sinless Blood as Payment to Father God for the sins of the ENTIRE HUMAN RACE!
Later that night, as Jesus and all of the Disciples, except Judas, were Praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, Judas showed up with soldiers sent by the Priests and Rabbis to arrest Jesus.
Judas was leading them and walked up and kissed Jesus on the cheek identifying Him to the soldiers.
They arrested Him, took Him before the Priests and Rabbis, was given a mock trial and turned over to the Roman soldiers to be beaten, have a Crown of Thorns crushed down upon His Head and forced to carry His Own Cross through the streets of Jerusalem, out the gates to a place called Golgotha where they Nailed Jesus to the Cross He had been carrying and stood it up between two thieves.
Jesus COULD have called upon 72,000 Angels standing there with swords drawn ready to rescue Him, but He told them not to, that He had to Sacrifice His Life as Payment for the SINS of the entire Human Race.
After hanging on that Cross for 6 hours, as He was about to die, God the Father, supernaturally placed the SINS of the entire Human Race upon Him and then turned His Back upon His Only Begotten Son. Jesus saw His Father do this and shouted: “My God, My God, Why hast Thou forsaken Me?” And then dropped His Head, said “It is Finished” and died.
To make certain that He was dead, a Roman soldier forced a spear into His Side and Blood and Water spilled out.
Two followers of Jesus then went to the Roman authorites to obtain permission to remove Jesus’ Body from the Cross. They took His Body down, covered it with a long white sheet and carried it to a newly hewn grave where they laid His dead Body upon a pedestal and walked out.
Roman soldiers then rolled a large stone against the entrance, sealed it and stood guard.
On the morning of the third day, Father God, brought His Son Jesus BACK TO LIFE!
The stone was rolled away and Jesus made 10 appearances to 500 people after His Resurrection before ascending back into Heaven in front of His remaining Disciples commanding them to go to the entire world telling them about “My Death, Burial and Resurrection!”
So those are the FACTS concerning Jesus.
If, by Faith, you believe all of that to be true: That Jesus is the Son of God, that He died on that Cross for all of your sins, was Resurrected on the 3rd Day, we now call Easter and ascended back into Heaven to sit upon His Throne to the Right-Hand Side of God the Father and you can lift up a Prayer to God the Father Praying that you “Confess that you are a sinner and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior by Faith, Repent of your sins and commit to trying to follow Him for the rest of your life, in Jesus’ Name.”
If you say that Prayer and really mean it, you will be Spiritually “Born Again”, your name will be Permanently written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and your Place in Heaven will be reserved in Heaven for ETERNITY!
Now go and tell the World about Jesus, the ONLY way into Heaven!
By the way, I must tell you that if you do NOT accept Jesus as your Personal Savior before you die, your soul will be eternally separated from God and on Judgment Day will be thrown into the Eternal Lake of Fire (Rev 20:15) with Satan.
The most important verse in The Holy Bible is: Jesus told Nicodemus: “For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish but have Everlasting Life!” John 3:16
The Second Most Important Verse in the Bible:
The SECOND most important verse is: Jesus said: “I Am The Way The Truth and The Life: NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME!” John 14:6
From a Subscriber: “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

The Great Commission
His Great Commission, as He ascended back into Heaven while on the road to Bethany was:
I’m sure most of you know of the Story in the Holy Bible about Jesus sending all 12 of His Disciples off in a boat in the Sea of Galilee to go to the other side while He sent 5,000 men and their families home after feeding them, Miraculously, with only 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread (Please Google: Matthew 14:13-21).
Jesus then went up into the nearby mountain to Pray.
As the Disciples sailed to about the half-way point across the sea, a tremendous storm came up threatening to swamp the boat with water and drown all of them!
Suddenly, they looked out to sea and saw someone WALKING TOWARDS THEM ON THE WATER!
It was Jesus!
Peter recognized Him and yelled out to Him: “Lord, if it is You, Command me to come to You!”
Jesus answered “Yes, Come!”
And Peter, FULL OF FAITH AND COURAGE, kept his eyes upon Jesus and STEPPED OUT OF THE BOAT and started walking on the water towards Jesus (Please Google: Matthew 14:29).
Peter didn’t even think about what the OTHER 11 Disciples thought about him taking this step of Faith!
HE JUST DID IT!
Peter actually walked a short ways ON THE WATER toward Jesus while looking steadfastly upon Jesus!
Unfortunately, when he took his eyes OFF of Jesus and started looking at the wind and the waves HE STARTED SINKING!
He cried out to Jesus to save him, which Jesus did, of course, then they both got into the boat and Jesus shouted out to the wind and the sea: “Peace, be still!”
And the wind and sea immediately calmed down!
And ALL 12 Disciples finally realized that Jesus truly MUST be the Son of God! (Google: Matthew 28:14-22)
EVEN THOUGH these same 12 men had already seen Jesus perform literally THOUSANDS of Miracles, beginning with changing 5 30-gallon pots of water into Fine Wine at the Wedding Feast in Cana to the one they had just observed where He fed 5,000 men AND their families with only 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread, Jesus KNEW that their hearts were STILL hardened toward whether He was REALLY the SON OF GOD!
THIS MIRACLE CONVINCED THEM!
My point today goes back to where PETER SAW JESUS WALKING ON THE WATER and asked Him to COMMAND him to walk upon the water TO HIM!
HE GOT OUT OF THE BOAT, keeping his eyes upon Jesus, WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT WHAT THE OTHERS IN THE BOAT THOUGHT ABOUT THIS!
I Repeat: WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT WHAT THE OTHERS IN THE BOAT THOUGHT ABOUT THIS!
My question is this: Are YOU afraid to “Step out of the Boat” and start TRULY WITNESSING FOR JESUS, telling the world about Him being the ONLY way to be Born-Again, like you were when you were really FIRST BORN AT YOUR BIRTH, when your Soul’s Name was already written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Google Rev 20:15) when you were conceived in your precious Mother’s womb and REMOVED when you committed your first SIN after reaching the age of accountability and knew the difference between right and wrong!
At that moment, your name was BLOTTED out of the Book of Life!
2,000 years ago our Father God, in His Mercy and Grace, provided a way that ALL members (Souls) of the entire Human Race could get their names Re-Written into the Lamb’s Book of Life and be “Born-Again” when He sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to this earth as a little Baby, Born of the Virgin Mary, with a Primary Purpose of Shedding His Blood on a Cross at Calvary as Payment for ALL OF THE SINS OF THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE, WHICH HE DID, IF they would only Believe that:
Jesus was and is the Son of God;
He died upon that Cross for their sins;
He was buried in a borrowed tomb and
Rose from the dead on the 3rd Day called Easter;
He made at least 10 appearances to over 500 people afterwards;
He Ascended back into Heaven 40-days later on a cloud in front of the Galileans;
He is now sitting on His Throne at the Right-Hand of His Father, our Sovereign King and Creator of the entire Universe and Beyond, as our: High Priest, Advocate, Lord and Savior!
The Father will one day send His Son BACK to earth, at the Rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:17), when the SOULS of ALL Born-Again Human Beings, whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, will take on their Heavenly Bodies and RISE to meet Him in the sky and enter Heaven to live FOREVER (Eternity with no end).
Those that are NOT Born-Again will be left behind and have to endure what will be called The Tribulation Period for seven (7) years (Revelation 7:14, and Matthew 24:21-29). Those who become Christians AFTER the Rapture will live through (or perish during) the Tribulation.
After the Tribulation, Christ will return to establish his Kingdom on earth for 1,000 years during which time, Satan will be bound.
At the END of Christ’s 1,000 year Reign, Satan will be released, will assemble a large contingent and try to attack Christ’s Earthly Kingdom! He will be destroyed by God, the Father, with fire and Satan will be thrown into the Lake of Fire for Eternity!
The next event will be the Great White Throne Judgment when ALL Souls that have NOT accepted Christ as their Personal Savior by Faith, Repented of their sins and given Christ Complete control of their lives prior to that Judgment Day, meaning that they DID NOT accept Christ’s Death on the Cross as Payment for all of their sins, will have to defend THEMSELVES for all of their sins before God: THERE WILL BE NO DEFENSE and ALL of them will be taken by Angels and thrown into the Lake of Fire with Satan and all of his demons FOR ETERNITY. (Revelation 20:15)
Those Souls that HAVE been Born-Again and have their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THAT JUDGMENT, they will have their Eternal Bodies and live for Eternity in Heaven.
At the end of ALL FOUR GOSPELS, Jesus admonished us to “Get out of the Boat” without worrying what others will say or think about your Actions and TELL THE WORLD ABOUT OUR LORD AND SAVIOR: JESUS THE CHRIST!
I challenge you to have the Courage to do it!
My Christian Blog, which I have spoken and written every night since 2011, has reached 175 Countries and over 2,838 Cities within those Countries. There are still 31 Countries that we have NOT reached.
There are over 6 Billion People around the world WHO HAVE NEVER EVEN HEARD TH NAME OF JESUS!
At least, have the courage to forward or COPY and forward this message to all of your Social Media and email Contacts as I do every night.
Please don’t be ashamed of Him!
If you are ashamed of Him on earth, He will be ashamed of you in front of the Father!
